MOUists and the MAOists
Trickle Down Psychopathy at its finest in India. Arundhati Roy spent time with the rebel tribal villagers to document them. What is apparent is the Indian corporotocracy and the puppet government have decided that to continue the 6%+ growth in the economy, the tribal people must go since they are standing in the way of what the corporations covet. I guess sharing the profits is out of the question.
The propaganda machine has branded those 'Naxalites' that defend their territory from hostile military and corporate takeover as Maoists.
Wiki:
The term Naxalites comes from Naxalbari, a small village in West Bengal, where an extremist section of Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) led by Charu Majumdar and Kanu Sanyal led a violent uprising in 1967, trying to develop a "revolutionary opposition" in opposition to the CPI(M) leadership. The insurrection started on May 25, 1967 in Naxalbari village when a farmer was attacked over a land dispute. Maoists in the guise of farmers retaliated by attacking the local landlords and escalated the violence.[6] Majumdar greatly admired Mao Zedong, and advocated that Indian peasants and lower classes follow in his footsteps and overthrow the government and upper classes whom he held responsible for their plight.
Enough of the Communist spin! They are not fighting for an ideology. They're fighting for their land and way of life just as the American Indians did before they were massacred and robbed of their land.
These Naxalites live as subsistence farmers, living in harmony with nature and gathering resources from the local forests. Unfortunately, their regions are rich with natural resources that can be mined for incredible profits by corporates. They've been cleared out of their villages. They now live in the surrounding forests. They cannot claim title to their land once they're gone. The strategy by the government is to either kill them or starve them to death. That is how it is done in a democracy.
Btw, Kashmir is pronounced Kaush*Mir (as in the Soviet space station Mir). The region did have the name Cashmere previously.

Small Farmers regulated out of business
A LICENSE TO KILL
Used to be a farmer could grow and sell things without interference from anyone else. Why should the government tell you you can't buy something like raw milk from your trusted farmer? As if the milk from a mass producer that abuses their animals and produces milk that's laden with rBST, pus, and antibiotics is safer for me?
What's it the business of the government to say, "No you can't do that!" to simple activities that are quite natural, wholesome, productive which add value to society?
No wonder we're in a depression! We're stopping commerce that benefits the small guys (both on the producer and consumer side).
