George4Title: Affordable Health Care

NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH

Ah ha! I knew it! Cheap health care can be had without health insurance. Here is the proof. George4Title visits a local health care clinic where they charge $360 per year to take care of your basic health concerns.

I've always thought that going to the doctors for a cold or cough was a waste of everyone's time and money. Doctors should be attending to more difficult tasks and patients shouldn't have to pay up the wazoo.

The keywords are CASH BASIS. Insurance just ups the costs. I mean who in their right mind pays $5000 for an ambulance ride? Or how about $5000 to put a cast on that leg? Or $5000 for some routine exam? Or tens of thousands for some routine surgeries and procedures? Everyone in health care is overpaid. How so? INSURANCE. Without insurance people wouldn't be paying these outrageous prices.

My experience has been such. When on cash basis, I think twice about going to the dentist. I may go once a year ot once every two years. Frankly, it really doesn't make much difference between going 6 months or two years. In fact, it might be better, as you are exposed to less XRay radiation. Cash basis forces me to shop around and to purchase only necessary services. The bill is looked over with a fine tooth comb. Any discrepancies are argued over and resolved.

Then there was the time with my dentist when I had dental insurance. When I looked over the bill and my copays (yes my copays were less than cash basis), the dentist was making 3x as much as if I had paid with cash. the prices were hiked to what the insurance would payout at max for the services!

When I went for my eye exam and purchased my eyeglasses, I had vision insurance. I had shown the optometrist (they may want to pretend to be doctors in their white coasts, the are not) that I could get the glasses cheaper online. She told me she had to sell to me at full price. It was actually the policy with my VSP vision insurance! It turns out I would've paid the same with or without the insurance.

India is primarily all cash basis. Only recently, has health care insurance bee introduced by MNCs in India. Needless to say, the services provided by clinics are much cheaper on cash basis! The are actually affordable as they have to be provided at prices the customer can pay!

Ok, maybe you don't be Cadillac service in a brand new hospital with the latest gadgets and machinery on cash basis. You do get basic services at prices you can afford. It's just like with everything else. To get a Cadillac, you must be willing to pay for it. For the serious stuff, health insurance is where it should be used. Deductions of $5,000 or $10,000 makes sure it is only used for emergencies such as accidents or major surgery. And at $50 per month this type of insurance makes sense.

And maybe you shouldn't live another few months if it's going to cost millions to keep you alive. Would it be worth it to be in a vegetative state all that time? Statistics say that 1/4 to 1/3 of a person's lifetime health care costs are spent in the final year. Wouldn't that money be better spent during the time of life when you are healthy? Give me that money when I am able to use it and enjoy it! Don't blow it on me when it's past my time!

Anyways, here is my rant from years past about health insurance.

Dr. Govindappa Venkataswamy's Aravind Eye Care Hospital

CURING THE BLIND

This is why you should go to work everyday. Not just to blindfoldedly collect money, but to feel fulfilled and rewarded by improving current and future conditions around you. And if you're not doing this, you're being cheated of a wonderful experience.

So what's stopping you from leaving the monkey cage and the hamster wheel? Is it that chase of the all mighty dollar? The top down business model and decisions made by control freaks have you shackled. So why do we have a top down model? It's so that the psychopathic control freaks have something to do. It's for their job security and enjoyment. Just think Dr. Evil.

Alas, we have come to this question. Who's really blind and when do we cure the blindness?

Catherine Austin Fitts: interview on the Red Ice Radio 08-23-2009

Catherine Austine Fitts interviews on Sweden's Red Ice Radio. She became an 'enemy of the state' for trying to increase transparency at HUD. She believes there will be depopulation in our future. She discusses agenda of maximizing control NOT profits. She's the one to come up with the concepts of decentralization (moving away from government and large corporations) and 'tapeworm' economy where the resources are organized to by the tapeworm to feed itself at the detriment of the host.

She also covers:
- the swine flu and the dangers of vaccinations
- the inefficient healthcare industrial complex and intentional pollution and toxicity of environment and health
- American philanthropy an endowments such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation that are used to hide from taxes and to feed the military industrial complex, the various corporations, and various agendas
- the nefarious agenda to take over seed stock for purposes of population reduction
- the leveraged buyout of the economy
- treasury bonds as a mechanism to tax the world backed by force by the military

Peter Schiff making too much sense on healthcare

Here's something on health care that you won't hear ANYWHERE else. Why is the cost of lasik going down? Because insurance doesn't cover it and you HAVE to shop around! Insurance should only cover catastrophes. Why is it you have a concept of paying for everything you need like food, shelter, gas, car, etc? But when it comes to health care, it shouldn't cost you anything?????

Ralph Nader: Healthcare and the Bailout

Who do you go to for advice and integrity during troubled times? Of course, the one and only crime fighter, Ralph Nader!

Here's Ralph Nader in favor of full single payer healthcare. I have family members in the healthcare profession and they tell me the single payer health plan is the only way to go. Everybody can be covered under the same premiums we are paying right now to private "insurance". I think the concept of healtch care insurance needs to change. We pay for food, water, shelter and all of our other needs. Why is it when it comes to the subject of healthcare everyone expects not to pay the full amount out of their pockets for any service they get? Insurance should be for catastrophies like accidents and big ticket items, not for headaches and xrays. Because insurance pays for all the care, it makes everything expensive. I can assure you that if most care was paid by cash, healthcare would automatically be rationed and also prices would be much cheaper than they are now, due to shopping around for the lowest prices. I was going to my dentist on cash basis and she was charging me $55 per filling. When I used my insurance she got paid almost 3x as much for the same exact filling. She wanted me to get all my fillings redone because I had insurance.

Ralph Nader on the subject of the bailouts wants to put the crooks in jail. Plain and simple.

How to attend a townhall meeting

So today I run into a news article fom yahoo about townhall gone wild in Setauket, N.Y... It's mentioned that Democratic Congressman Tim Bishop needs a police escort to help him safely out. Needless to say, he isn't going to any more townhalls.

Notice the smugness from the Congressman. He's better than anyone else. He knows more than the crowd and he can't be wrong. He's right and everyone else is wrong.

Dr. Sam Chachoua - Cancer Cure?

I saw this on the solari blog. There's not much info on this guy so I write this blog entry with some sense of suspicion and hesistation as there really isn't a full story.

Apparently, Dr. Sam Chachoua had a cure for cancer. The serum had viruses that would attach to cancer cells, marking them up for identification and destruction by the immune system. Currently, cancer cells cannot be identified by the immune system and that is why they are not attacked and destroyed.

Dr. Sam Chachoua won $10 million from Ceders-Sanai when they lost his serums and ended testing because it would've cured cancer and destroyed profits.

Doctor offers flat-rate care: Government says NO!

A NY doctor offers flat-rate care for $79 a month for unlimited visits and care. Government does its due diligence and does it parts. It reprimands the doctor, telling him he's got to either change his policy or stop offering the plan.

"Dr. John Muney, president of AMG Medical Group, said he started the program in September after noticing that many of his patients were losing their jobs, and therefore, their health insurance coverage.

About 500 people have registered for Muney's $79-a-month plan, accounting for 15 percent of patients at the practice, which has offices in each of New York's five boroughs.

The monthly $79 fee -- roughly equivalent to the price of a Starbucks coffee a day -- covers unlimited preventive visits and onsite medical services such as minor surgery, physical therapy, lab work and gynecological care.

Ilana Clay, a 28-year-old who works in marketing for a jewelry firm, said she signed up in March because she could not afford her employer's health insurance, which would have cost around $300 a month.

"I hadn't been to a doctor in a couple of years at that point," she told Reuters. She had a scar removed in a quick onsite procedure that was covered by the plan.

Muney said another patient came in with a tumor on her finger: "Somebody else asked $3,000 to remove it. The first visit, we were able to remove it, 15 minutes it took us."
