Jak Community Bank: Interest Free Loans

This from Max Keiser today.

Interest is a cost that's marked up by business and what the consumer pays is a multiple of the original interest rate charged on all the resources and labor used in producing the end product or service. Find out just how much and you may be surprised! Also follow the money and find out who benefits from rentier income which is income derived from interest and other "toll road fees/junk fees" on products and services.

Only the first video was really interesting. The rest goes into how a person can get an interest free loans (2.5% to pay for admin fees actually) proportionate to their savings at the Jak bank. Also covered is the bank's focus and operations in a localized manner.

Catherine Austin Fitts: The latest and greatest 1/2010

Here's the latest from Catherine Austin Fitts as of 01/07/2010.

What's covered in the video with James Corbett? Stop having other people manage your money. Decide for yourself where to put it. Make money ethical. The money managers buy real assets with your money while you get paper. Chances are the small bankers will be much more ethical than the big banks. Give them energy and power. One person can make a change.

"It also means that our culture will have to adopt old timely values. Take care of your business and your family. Good manners. Hard work. Discipline. Caring about those around you. Keeping your word.

So it seems to me that the problem is that we — all of us from the gangsters to the spoiled many - are not behaving like mature adults and all solutions require that we do."

Change to a Community Bank - UPDATE

MOVE THAT STASH O CASH

Looks like there's a link through MoveYourMoney.Info's site to search for a community bank by zip code. There is also a link on their webpage (at the bottom of the webpage) to look for credit unions.

My strategy is to keep a little in the big bank for ATM access (locations) and move the long term deposits to my credit union.

Change to a Community Bank

RESIST DERIVATIVES AND CDOs

This video has been going around. Let's get back to integrity and decency. It's all around you but you have to seek it and engage it. That goes with any investments, not just consumption.

Remember to be careful about who you want to make rich. Money in the wrong hands is bad news. Give money only to those that think about others. Let's get away from the lowest price model and go to a lowest cost to society model.

One more thing, buy from local farmers at farmers markets. Locations are available at www.localharvest.org.

Catherine Austin Fitts: interview on the Jeff Rense Show 07-29-2009

Catherine Austin Fitts continues the theme of decentralization by encouraging everyone to take their daily lives into their own hands and to change their patterns so that local community growth is encouraged and centralized institutional control broken. You can do so by withdrawing your money from any of the big bailed out banks and putting it into a local bank. Buy precious metal coins and trade them as currency with others instead of dollars. Earn a 4% return (based on inflation and lack of a income tax chanrge) by buying and stocking up on commodity food and household items such as paper towels.

Also discussed is analysis of the ongoing corruption and fraud by the fed and the banks. Catherine talks about her run in with the DOJ and how her family gave money back that she had given them earlier on as gift. She contrasts this benefit of support vs. the big banks.

Small Banks: Hurt by the bailout

The small banks have to compete with the big ones. The small banks weren't involved with CDOS, MBS, subprime, derivatives, or any of the other casino capitalism scams. The small banks and credit unions are, for the most part, are still solvent and profitable. They have not asked for, nor needed, any taxpayer supplied TARP funds.

The taxpayers are subsidizing these big banks. The big banks can offer higher interest rates on savings and CDs vs the smaller banks, which makes it difficult for the smaller guys to attract capital.

The longer video is available on CNBC.

Now the small banks have to pay higher FDIC premiums to subsidize the big banks. The higher FDIC premiums are causing small banks to show lower or even no profits for the year.

"“At DeMotte [State Bank, an 11-branch operation in the northwest part of Indiana, Bank President] Mr. Goetz is bracing for a steep increase in a crucial overhead cost: the bill from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, which is basically an insurance fund underwritten by banks.

Last year, DeMotte paid $42,000 into the fund. This year, because of failures in other parts of the country and particularly among national banks, that sum will rise to $500,000 or more.

“Isn’t that the American way?” he says, folding his arms. “Whoever is left standing, whoever was prudent, is always the one who has to pick up the pieces.”"

Fight back. Hurt the bankers.

Hurt the big banks by moving your money out of them. As Catherine Austin Fitts says, move your money out of the central Fed structure, into local institutions and gold/silver.
